The program “Honor the King” discusses the right attitude we ought to have toward civil authorities at three levels:

  (1) No violence – Jn 18:36, Mt 26:52

  (2) Obedience – Romans 13:6-7; 1 Peter 2:13-17

  (3) Honor – Romans 13:6; 1 Peter 2:17.

The example of how Biblical persons responded to those in authority is exposited--Daniel, Paul, Elijah, John the Baptist, and Jesus.

There is also a discussion on how we need to balance a respect for those in authority with the American system of the public being both the authority of the state and a the  watch dog of the state.

Examples are given of “so called” Christian groups that fail to honor the king.

As the Christian base in our country is eroding, so also is civility in political discourse.   This program seeks to remind Christians how to dialogue in the public square.  This is a message that needs to be heard from the pulpits of our land.
