Have you noticed? The world is losing all common sense. Program #198 is about the moral and intellectual darkness that comes upon those who abandon God. When a person is disconnected from God, he is not only disconnected from the source of life but also the source of wisdom, knowledge and intelligence. Man living autonomous from God will fall into mental depravity.

I give one example from the media’s reporting of the Islamic terrorist attack in Tennessee, but the examples of America’s stupidity fill the news every day. I then list many Scriptures on this subject to point out the fact that this curse of lunacy is no small theme in the Bible. I include a quick review of Allan Bloom’s basic thesis in The Closing of the American Mind and an illustration from C.S. Lewis’
Pilgrim’s Regress.

If there is one good reason to run to Christ, it is this: if you persist in a life independent of God, you will fall into a mental darkness, and you will not even know it.
