#67 “The Christian Work Ethic
Abridged Radio Program
Synopsis #67 – The Christian Work Ethic for February 10, 2013
Your theology determines how you work. The influence of Christianity inspires a society with a practical and diligent work ethic. The first matter of business is how Christianity gives people the honesty to do business, the worldview necessary to do business, the eternal purpose for doing business, the command to do business, and the supernatural motivation of the Spirit of God.
The rest of the program discusses the elements of the work ethic, as Paul delineated to the churches. Since Paul made the special point of teaching his converts about work, the Christian work ethic should be taught regularly from the pulpit–specifically, that Christians should engage in work that produces legitimate goods and services. While the world works to get the maximum amount of income for the least possible service to others, Christians work to provide the most service for the least possible cost to others. The world’s work ethic and the Christian’s work ethic are opposites. The program also includes a memorial to, and some comments about, the death of the Twinkie in 2012.
