The secularist’s view the Constitution as a godless document setting up a secular state; some on the Christian Right view the Constitution as being thoroughly Christians. This program seeks to give a Biblical, balanced answer this debate. For some, the explanation I put forth will be controversial. God, the Bible and Jesus Christ were left out of our Constitution as the basis for law because in 1790 the age of reason was in full swing. But the misunderstanding on both the Left and the Right is this belief that the Constitution was written to be a moral guide for the Nation. In reality, the Constitution was a document meant to determine the procedure by which the legislators could determine the moral law of the land. When the Christian community assumes that the Constitution is the moral guide for the nation, we play to the hands of the secularist. Scriptures referred to in this program include:
