If you hang around conservatives, it won’t be very long before you hear a plug for getting off fiat money and getting on the gold standard. There are passionate ideologues on both sides of this argument; and on this subject, there is often more heat than light. Economics is a difficult subject, and it is no easy task to wade through all of the arguments for, or against, a return to a metallic money standard.

I begin by explaining the nature of money, the history of money in the United States, and facts about gold and paper. I conclude by examining Biblical references to gold and some general principles. Where do I stand on the gold standard? I am not going to spoil this program! You are going to have to listen to find out. What you learn might change your thinking.
