#170 Fired for the Faith
Abridged Radio Program
Program #170 “Fired for the Faith” 2/1/2015 – Synopsis
Program #170 is about the firing of Atlanta’s fire chief for publishing a book for his church men’s group that referenced Scriptural passages that referred to homosexuality as unclean. This event foreshadows the coming persecution in America where Christians will lose their jobs, public or private, for holding to Christian morality. We are experiencing a revival of the persecution of the Church as in the days of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in AD 303. His edict deprived all Christians of the right to hold public office. If the mayor of Atlanta sets a precedent, then it will soon be illegal for Christians to work for any federal, state or local government.
After covering a number of Scriptures about the nature of Christian persecution, I discuss how this current persecution is being justified legally. However, all of these legal arguments are predicated on an underlying belief in the rightness of the Homosexual lifestyle. If our culture had not abandoned the belief that homosexuality was a perversion, the courts would not be applying “equal protection” to homosexual behavior, and mayors would not be accusing Christians of hate speech and discrimination for their opposition to homosexuality.
